FAQ - Zora Pet Grooming Blender Shear - Model A-7046

Q: What is the Zora A-7046 Blender Shear used for?

This shear is a professional pet grooming tool designed for removing bulk, softening harsh lines, and creating smooth transitions between different coat lengths . It is ideal for blending areas where you want to eliminate scissor marks and create a polished, natural finish without removing too much hair at once.

Q: What is the difference between a blender and a chunker?

The main difference is how much hair they remove and their purpose:

  • Blenders (like the A-7046): Usually have more teeth (typically 25-40). They remove a moderate amount of hair to smooth transitions between lengths, soften hard lines, and create a polished finish. They are used for finishing and blending work .

  • Chunkers: Usually have fewer teeth (10-25). They remove a large amount of hair quickly for heavy bulk reduction and texturizing. They are used as a heavy-duty tool for initial shaping.

Q: What type of material is the A-7046 made from?

Zora Shears are crafted from high-quality Japanese steel, known for its durability, sharpness, and long-lasting edge retention . They are designed to be lightweight and easy to handle for professionals .

Q: What other shears are needed in a professional grooming kit?

A complete grooming setup typically includes all four shear types :

  • Straight Shears: For body work, legs, and clean, straight lines.

  • Curved Shears: For shaping rounded areas like the head, paws, and tail.

  • Blending Shears (like the A-7046): For removing bulk, softening lines, and creating smooth finishes.

  • Curved Blenders: For blending on curved surfaces like cheeks, hocks, and feet.

Step 1. Wipe down after use.

Keep the shear wide open at 90 degrees or more.Hold the shear still and wipe down the movable and still blades from the pivot to the tip by using a genuine leather cloth

Step 2. Brush or drop oil.

Brush or drop the oil (1-2 drops or 2-3 brushes) at the pivot (tension) area and wait for 5-10 seconds. Close and open the shear slowly and gently 2-3 times. Repeat the process if necessary

Step 3. Wipe down the oil.

Keep the shear wide open. Wipe down the oil from the pivot to the tip (both blades).

Step 4. Close it.

Close it slowly and gently. Slightly adjust the tension if necessary. Keep it in its original case or a dry and safe place. Repeat step 1 before using the oiled shear

Your are Ready!

Maintenance is recommended after 20 hours of cutting or once a week, whichever comes first. BE CAREFUL. THE BLADES ARE SHARP.
